The Year of the Baby

2011 has brought so many special little blessings in our lives. None of our own (yet) but they surround us and grow by the number daily! We took part in throwing two couple baby showers too! Of course, I'm obsessed with each and everyone of them and grab a photo with one every chance I get. Here is a re-cap of the newest editions in our lives!

London Jennings was our first baby, born March 2011!

Our first sweet little girl was Mazey Brooks.... born only one day after London!

We joined the French's  to throw Amber and Jason Goodvin a couple's baby shower for their baby boy!
Ben and London enjoyed watching the Royal baseball game together at the shower!
In May, Ben took me on a surprise trip to NYC where the Graham's met us! They're expecting a little boy this Fall 2011!
In July, sweet baby Eli Blunt was born!
About one week later the "soon to be" Murray's and us threw McKenzie and Andy Ek (Ben's best man) a couple's baby shower.
Most of the girls at the Ek Baby Shower!
More pics of me and Lindsey's decor!
My wonderful OU Pom friend, Lauren, gave birth to precious Nash Jordan on July 4th! I got to see him while visiting OKC!
Walt Goodvin finally arrived in late July! He's the sweetest little guy!
And only one week later Greyson Ek arrived early! So adorable with so much blonde hair I've ever seen!

Congrats to all of our friends for their new additions to their amazing families! We are so happy and excited for all of them!

OKC Girls Weekend

While Ben was off winning the K2K Tournament of Champions, I got some quality time in with most of my best friends. It's amazing how wonderful my friends are! We've got some major years on each of our friendships: Krystal- 15 years, Anna- 14 years, Amelia- 12 years, and Morgan- 9 years! I'm so greatful they are still a part of my life and though we may not get to see each other every week or even every month; we get together and it feels like nothing has changed between us! I love you all!

We had a relaxing "stay in" night with wine and home made personal pizzas at the Bardwell's home!
Krystal, Amelia, and Me enjoying some great sunglasses Amelia brought us.
Night got a little crazy:)

And on Sunday Anna and I got tickets to the Thunder Playoff Game!

Spending time with wonderful old friends leaves me no choice but to look past at our past... and the hilarious/embarrassing photos I still have! I love the memories we will all hold forever!

Valentine's Day Roomie Night!
Anna and I in 7th grade. Getting ready for a basketball game! One of our many sports we played together:)
Priceless... we loved dressing up at slumber parties! Krystal wasn't always a fan of it:)

Morgan, Amelia, Krystal, and Me at University of Oklahoma Senior Year- our favorite place to go out, 747!

Anna's Welcome Home Party- Let's Celebrate Every Holiday She missed!

Anna, one of my best and oldest friends, spent 15 months teaching children English in South Korea. Since we were all so excited for her homecoming, we decided to celebrate every holiday that Anna missed while gone! So, in our little game room in McAlester, OK we celebrated... a lot. Here are my top 7 memories of the evening:

7. Anna and Amelia blowing out candles on their joint Birthday Cake
6. The green drinks celebrating St. Patty's Day...we made just about everything green
5. Watching Maycee bust open the Cinco De Mayo Pinata
4. The beautiful 4th of July fireworks display with lots and lots of sparklers
3. Our Christmas Tree with Halloween ghost lights and a Mexican Hat for the topper
2. The New Year's Eve countdown at 9 PM followed by Anna's wonderful toast
1. Getting to see Anna reunited with all her closest friends and family!

Autumn, Amelia, Anna, Jessica , Sara, Jess, Carsyn, and Ashlee
Great friends that drove from Austin, Kansas City, OKC, and Tulsa!

Showing off some of our fabulous accessories!

Steeva giving some love to our awesome Christmas, Halloween, Cinco de Mayo Tree!

The Guest of Honor! Anna, we're all so happy you're HOME!

Golfing

Ben, as most people know, is an avid golfer.  It was his high school sport, he has enjoyed it for many years, and he and his best high school friends have formed this intense yearly tournament called the K2K Tournament of Champions. Myself, on the other hand, joined the 8th grade golf team with my friend Anna because we didn't want to play softball and we got out of school for the entire day for tournaments! I did attempt golf camp when I was young; but on my first day a girl got hit in the face on someone's backswing and I told my mom I would not be returning because golf was too dangerous. I also have fond memories of my Grandpa taking me golfing while visiting for the summers... those memories are wonderful!

So, as Ben prepares almost every weekend for the 4th annual K2K, I have been joining him at the driving range. I'm one of those people who loves doing anything athletic and outdoors and of course now want to begin golfing all the time! My amazing husband surprised me with a new set of clubs. Of course I want an entire new golfing wardrobe- but Ben says I must prove I actually like playing first, but I did convince him to buy me a glove:)

Ben and myself had our first golf game last Saturday. I got to test out my new clubs!

Such great memories of me and my Grandfather! I'm guessing this was summer of 1992 in San Antonio, TX.
I just couldn't resist adding Ben's senior golf team photo. This was a 11 years ago!

Our Wedding

Before I can document our life in Kansas City, I have to share just a small part of our past. The best day in my life... our wedding day! www.mywedding.com/benandjessica

This is just a few of our amazing photos done by Becca Spears at Wirken Photography!

Did I mention I've been planning my wedding day since the age of 3? The entire day was a dream come true!

Here we go!

As Ben and I drove home from Wichita last weekend, I couldn't believe that we had just celebrated our 6 month wedding anniversary! Where did those 6 months go? I know there were lots of great memories and stories... but I have nothing to look back on and remember them by. Then it hit me: I'll start a blog. Not only can I look back at each milestone in our newly wed lives, I can shares these memories, stories, pics, and videos with loved ones near and far.

So I'm giving it a shot. Let's see what blogging is all about!
